PLB Slumber Party

As Pretty Lovely Bloggers, we have now done two events, the West Midlands and the South West Blogger Meet and we have now gotten back from our third. A group of us stayed with Sykes Cottages in one of their cottages near Wells. Double House Farm was a truly stunning location for our Blogger Weekend.

We arrived late afternoon on the Friday with a car packed full to the brim with treats and food for our bloggers. There was 6 of us in total: Kirsty, Ami-Rose, Hainy, Hannah, Sara-Jayne and myself. The majority of us arrived on the Friday evening and we tucked into a delicious Mexican Feast from Old El Paso. Literally mouthwatering Chicken Tinga Soft Tacos with lettuce, avocado and peppers, as well as nachos! We also enjoyed Ocean Punch cocktails from Candy Hero, a little too much! We also had a mini pamper evening with the most amazing 7th Heaven Face Masks and Soigné Nail Varnishes. I headed to bed relatively early, it was a long day and after working 6 days in a row, I was so ready to sleep!

The next morning, I was up pretty early, damn routine! We had breakfast and cracked on with the day. We tested out some Winter Fragrances from Library of Fragrance, my favourite combination had to be the Egg Nog and Pomegranate. It's so Wintery and while you have the spicy scents of Egg Nog, the contrast of the fresh, sweet scent of Pomegranate. YUM. We then had an extensive lesson in using photo props and all the set ups from Sara-Jayne, I learnt more from her over the weekend than I have anywhere else! It also makes you realise that Blogging is taken seriously by so many people, and that a hobby can really turn into full time work! We took so many blog photos and it was totally ok because there was no one around to judge us!

We spent the afternoon taking a trip to Tesco for more supplies (of course we would forget some things!) and a spot of baking. Some delicious cupcake brownies with Reese's Peanut Butter Chips and topped with Fluff and confetti sprinkles! Such an easy recipe, expect a blog post soon, obvs.

Before dinner, we made up some cocktails with Taste cocktail subscription box. To be really honest, these were not my cup of tea. They were so strong and seemed to be pure alcohol and there was no indication of any mixer to add to them, so for me I couldn't drink any of it! However, we did manage to take some pretty pictures but pass me a Sex on the Beach cocktail any day and I'll enjoy it!

I set up a Christmas themed Party Buffet for dinner while we watched X Factor which was devoured within minutes! It's almost like we were really hungry or something. After this I set up a Pick and Mix bar with a whole selection of American sweets and popcorn from Candy Hero. Yeah and me and Hainy totally had matching pink PJs from Jimmi Jamms.

After what felt like no sleep, too excited obvs. Myself and Ami were up watching Friends at half 8! Breakfast done, we made our desserts for after our Roast Dinner. Banoffee Pie using Bonne Maman Caramel Spread. With layers of ingredients in empty jars, it certainly is the perfect blogger dessert! Plus it tastes delicious!

I spent a couple of hours making a Roast Dinner for everyone and we enjoyed a few glasses of prosecco to go with it! It was delishhhhh, if I may say so myself. We then used some Sweet Cecily's Make Your Own Kits to make some Christmas Cookie and Mojito Lip Balms. The Christmas Cookie is hands down my favourite, perfect for this time of year!

I set up a cute little Hot Chocolate bar and we made Hot Chocolates with Choc Shots and watch Pitch Perfect 2 and X Factor before heading to bed.

Right now, I'm driving back to work. I was SO SAD to have to leave the girls, let alone leave at 5.30am, boo to being an adult. Can I just live in a cottage all the time? I had a truly amazing time with these lovely lot. There was never any pressure to do anything you didn't want to do, we were lucky enough to work with brands who sent us products we could make things with and use throughout the weekend and we certainly found some new favourite products.

We've already started planning our next Pretty Lovely Bloggers Weekend away, make sure you're signed up to our database to hear about it first. Big plans are underway!
