I'm not going to lie to you, it's been blooming hard during the first week of Veganuary. The few days before I started, we were thinking of what I could actually eat, we came up with a few ideas and have gone on from there. It makes it more difficult as the rest of my family will be eating meat and pasta and basically everything I can't eat and I can't force them to eat Vegan with me! So it's been tough finding the right balance between eating what I can with them and making my own meals.
- Read every label, like every one, there's so many unexpected ingredients
- Lunches are the hardest, smoothies are great for breakfast but lunch seems impossible
- Quorn is my new best friend (the Vegan one they do ofc)
- So are lentils
- Drink all the green tea in the world, because work only has normal milk
- I feel a million times better already as I'm not eating as much processed food
- I miss chicken more than anything
- People actually do this all the time...how?!
- I could consider carrying on but I would need to add back in meat
- The amount of times people asked if I miss cheese! I never ate that much anyway...
- I need carbs, like so bad (I'm cutting back on carbs as part of my diet anyway, for those wondering)
- The headaches from detoxing from all the bad stuff is literally unbearable
At the end of the day, this isn't as bad as I had imagined and I've even thought about having more vegetarian meals and cutting back on meat!
You're doing so well!
ReplyDeleteEven though I am not eating vegan, I know what you mean about the headaches now I am eating healthy! Every. Single. Day!
Can't wait to see your results :-)

I loved this post, good for you! it's something I'd love to try myself, but I have so many food allergies I don't know if it'd be too hard for me to do! I'd love it if you'd comment back http://amyelizabethfashion.blogspot.co.uk/2016/01/food-is-fuel.html xx
ReplyDeleteHi, let me give you a little bit of help
ReplyDeleteResearch lunch ideas - sandwiches, pasta with lots of veg.
Most Quorn is not vegan - it has egg in it.
How do people do it all time - because we think about the animals who suffer
I don't understand how you are not consuming carbs such as bread, rice, potatoes and pasta. That should be the basis of any meal
Here are some recipes for help

Also Instagram is really good - if need more recipes ideas. use the hashtag #veganfood or #veganrecipes
Also - follow these two accounts @vegansuk and @accidentallyveganuk. They post a lot of products that are secretly vegan
I hope that helps and I appreciate your effort.
I didn't know you were doing this! You're doing so well! I couldn't be Vegan, I'm 99% vegetarian but I couldn't be without Cadbury's chocolate or a good ol' cheese toastie! Well done for getting so far lovely, I hope you see a big difference at the end of the month.
