Summer Survival with Indigo Herbs

Indigo Herbs* which have been helping me lead a much healthier lifestyle while still enjoying my social life.  It is so easy to let our health slip at the best of times, but especially when there seems to be so much more going out and drinking in the Summer, so I am here to save the day with some amazing products so you don't need to worry about depriving your body!
think we are all loving that it is finally Summer, which means plenty more socialising with friends, parties and Weddings. I have been trying out the perfect products from

The first product I decided to try was the Organic Super Cleanse Detox Tea, I am so wary of detox teas, I have always heard bad things about them but decided to give this one a go. I was pleasantly surprised by this one, it was certainly uplifting and I felt so much better after drinking the tea for a few days, particularly because I have been quite unwell recently! It was quite nice to feel cleansed and refreshed afterwards. This loose leaf tea is 100% pure botanical ingredients and includes fennel, liquorice and ginger. It was a big yes from me!

Organic Spirulina Tablets were a new product for me, I didn't really know what to expect but when I told my mum what I had received, she was particularly intrigued by these. She told me they are great for energy and a great pick-me-up, which of course the information from Indigo Herbs confirmed! It is a high protein, multi vitamin and mineral supplement, packed with anti-oxidants and alkalising vitamin B and detoxifying vitamin E. They are a highly nutritious tablet which will rescue you from the worst hangover! Have you ordered yours yet?!

I am a massive fan of Organic Virgin Coconut Oil, I have previously written on the topic and used it in some of my recipes before. I think my favourite thing about Coconut Oil is that it is so versatile, you would instantly think of using it for cooking, but I love that it can be used as part of a beauty routine too or it can be used to make a superfood ball, bar or in a smoothie, which I had personally never thought of but cannot say that it sounds appealing to me! It has extensive health benefits and since it is a fast metabolising fat it makes great brain food!

I'm no stranger to Organic Maca Powder but I have not had it in a while, nor used it in the recommended ways by Indigo Herbs. This is a root vegetable, originating in South America and is a renowned energy enhancer and the ultimate Summer superfood! It is perfect to pop into a morning smoothie, always my favourite option, and is great to pop in home-made ice creams, for which I have found plenty new recipes for recently, it adds a great nutritious malty taste. What is great about Maca Powder is that it has a rich, rare blend of vitamins and minerals including calcium, potassium, iron and zinc. This really helps to calm the nervous system.

Another new product for me is Turmeric Powder which is apparently the absolute must have product for 2016! It has such a wide range of health benefits making it the best option for anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, cleansing and purifying. While it is typically used in curry and rice dishes, it is a great tonic for the body's system and is now the new hipster cuppa; The Golden Latte! Move over Green Tea! It is recommended to mix Turmeric with almond, coconut or cashew milk, add some ginger, coconut oil and coconut sugar, to make you this Summer's alternative caffeine drink.

One of my favourite features of Indigo Herbs products are that they are certified organic, quality assured and suitable for vegetarians. Plus they are all super affordable which is always a bonus when I run out of my favourite products!

*All Products featured in this post are kindly gifted from Indigo Herbs

Let's Talk

These past few weeks, I have really been getting myself together. I had a realisation that my mental health had really started to suffer and I had to get it sorted out. But I also had to help myself by living a much healthier lifestyle.

Whilst I have built an amazing support network around me, I have also distanced myself from all the negative relationships and feelings I had, this alone has made a huge difference to a healthier lifestyle and I feel so much better because of it.

To be honest, I felt completely lost, I had abandoned all my hobbies, stopped doing what I loved. The one thing that kept me going and grounded was my Bullet Journal. It is literally a god send.

I then decided to take a step back and re-evaluate all of my goals and make sure they actually what I want to achieve. It worked, I felt less pressure on myself and at the end of the day, I can only be the best that I possibly can.

My point is that I have managed to get myself together and I thought I would share my tips for you to do the same!
  • Detox your life of all toxic relationships
  • Eat better, feel better
  • Take a step back and take a deep breath, then carry on
  • Go back to what you love, find passion in your hobbies again
  • Surround yourself with a great support network and people you love
  • Re-evaluate your goals, make sure you are being realistic

Alphabet Dating - A & B

For a little while now, my Boyfriend and I have been planning to do Alphabet Dating. So for anyone who doesn't know what that is, you take a letter of the alphabet and pick something to do beginning with that letter, starting with A and finishing at Z. For example, for H you could go Horse Riding.

It all stemmed from us going on our first date to the Zoo and I suggested we go to the Aquarium (so you can guess what we did for A). And being quite a competitive pair, we also wanted to go Bowling...you can see where this is going. That's when my Boyfriend suggested Alphabet Dating. So we knew what A and B would be but the rest is a surprise.

Now because I am probably the best Girlfriend in the world, I didn't just want to go to the Aquarium, that would be no fun.

I started the date by picking him up and presenting him with a few treats. The night before I had made some mini apple pies (which were delicious if I say so myself), I had bought some Alphabet Letter Sweets and some Appletiser, plus a few other bits. I had also written a little card but that will remain unseen!

We headed to the Aquarium and enjoyed a couple of hours there (it's tiny so we didn't need much more than that) and they also have an Arcade next door (convenient with it being an A alphabet date eh?). I will leave you with a mini photo diary.

It has got to be one of the best dates we have ever been on and one of the best days ever!

For anyone who is going to try this, here is some inspiration for A:
Date Ideas: Art Gallery, Adventure Gold, Archery
Food: Asian, American, anything Apple
Extras: Appreciate, Affection

On to B. I was so looking forward to this! I've wanted to go Bowling for such a long time, and even better to go with my Boyfriend. We went to the Bowling Alley in Southampton as it is so much better than our local one. We enjoyed 3 games there, I say we, I mean he very much enjoyed beating me for two games but I stole the last one back, I couldn't let him have all the victory could I?! We then headed back to town and went to Byron's to eat Burgers, because it is literally my favourite place to eat! Ain't he cute?! It was such a great evening and it makes me so excited to see what else he has planned.

Unfortunately I didn't get any photos of that night, but here is some inspiration for B:
Date Ideas: Bingo, Bike Riding, Boats, Balloon Ride
Food: BBQ
Extras: Bubble Bath, Bear (a good old teddy bear), walking on the Beach

Aren't we adorable?

What should I do for C?!
