Trying New Foods with September Degustabox

I am back with another rather exciting box from Degustabox! I have shared all of my new finds from September's box, some of which I have completely loved!

Latin American Kitchen by Santa Maria

In Degustabox this month I received Yellow Rice and Peanut Sauce, I was so intrigued by this when I found it, I showed Phil what had arrived and we decided we must try it immediately! We paired it up with some chicken and only used about half the sauce which turned out to be the perfect amount of sauce, it wasn't too overpowering and the rice was delicious too.

Green & Black's Velvet Edition & Green's Egg Custard Mix

At first thought when this was in the box, what do I do with it? I turned over the packet of Egg Custard filling and was shown a recipe for Bread and Butter pudding, again wasn't too sure what to think, however upon thought, I am going to combine using the bar of Green & Blacks chocolate and the Egg Custard Filling to make a chocolate Bread and Butter Pudding, sounds dreamy right?

Nestle Cheerios Oat Crisp

Who doesn't love Cheerios? These Cheerios are mixed with delicious crunchy flakes which are made with whole grain oats. We've been loving having these for breakfast! They have been developed to help lower cholesterol and are high in fibre, low in saturated fat and contain ingredients to help keep your heart healthy. Always helpful right?!

San Miguel Gluten Free

This went straight to Phil, I believe I have seen him drink a San Miguel before so I took this on our trip to Birmingham and he had it in the hotel room. I imagine that this is really beneficial for people that need Gluten Free products, Beer that's gluten free, so good!

Mentos Mint Mix Sharing Pouch

I am one of the only people I know that like Peppermint and Spearmint, so when I saw this Pack of Mints that were mixed, I loved the idea! I love that they're also in the resealable packet, there's no way I could eat these in one or two or even five sittings, so I can grab a mint whenever I need to!

Dream Ancient Grains

This is one of two new flavours from Dream. The Ancient Grains is made with a blend of oat, spelt, buckwheat and linseed. With added Calcium and Vitamins these plant based milk alternatives taste really good and it is a bonus that there is no added sugar. This is right up my Mum's street so when I showed her this she couldn't wait to try it.

Knorr Concentrated Stock

This stock is definitely different from any that I have used before! It is made with real beef extract and is also Gluten Free. It is free from artificial preservatives and No added MSG. I added mine to some different mince beef dishes I was doing and it tasted delicious!

Virtue Energy Water

This is not the first time I have tried Virtue Energy Water. I personally love the Berries one, so I gave Phil the Lemon & Lime one. He loved it and we happened to find them in our local B&M so he picked up loads of cans! It contains zero sugar, zero calories, with no sweeteners. Yes it tastes delicious and it's an energy drink!

Wild Planet Albacore Wild Tuna Steaks

I do love Tuna! It's the first time I've seen it say not to drain away the juices, instead you mix them into the tuna to mix with the Omega 3-rich juices for added flavour and nutrition. The tuna steaks are 100% pole and line caught, they are then hand packed and cooked just one to retain the juices.

That's it for the September Degustabox, I/We got to try so many new foods which I always find so exciting! Some of these I definitely know I will be going out to buy again. What do you think of these products?

You can use the code PU9SR, to get your first box for only £5.99, I can assure you it is worth it!

*The box and its contents were kindly gifted by Degustabox, but as always, all views and opinions are my own.

My Desk Space with Kit Out My Office

For me, my desk space is crucial, I rely on it more than anywhere else in my room/the house, as a space for me to happily blog and study. It's somewhere I can comfortably spend my days off and evenings to get creative and be a bit of a nerd with studying.

One thing I am really bad for is clutter, mess, everywhere, organised mess, but there is still STUFF everywhere. Why?! I couldn't tell you, nor can I tell you how to get rid of it, but this beaut of an office desk from Kit Out My Office* has become home to where I can focus on everything else besides my 9-5 job.

My Top 5 things that I need to have on my desk, to make it my own, and of course have everything I need to get my tasks done:

1. Laptop - Crucial! I use it for basically everything! Studying, blogging, social media, you name it, I rely on my laptop heavily!
2. Candles - I can't get enough of candles, especially in Autumn and Winter, the dw Home ones from Homesense are my favourite at the moment, they smell so good and I think I may have bought all of the Pumpkin ones so I can't wait for the Christmas ones to come out!
3. Cute Mug - I managed to track down a Chip mug, I honestly love it beyond words, mine is from the Disney Store and it's massive, I haven't had the guts to make a hot drink in it yet, so it's just going to sit all pretty on my desk instead!
4. Notebook and Colourful Pens - An absolute must have for when I need to jot down ideas and also I use so many different coloured pens in my Happy Planner!
5. Diary - I use a Happy Planner which is between A4 and A5, I love it, I made the change a few months ago and I love the freedom that it gives me! However, I am on a spending ban from buying stickers, which is going fantastically!

Those are my top 5 items for my desk. So the desk itself is the UCLIC Engage Bench Desk + Double Drawer in Beech. It's divine, I love it, a lot! It's one of the bigger sizes they do, and I must say it is quite big! However, it suits the purpose I need it for, with a large desk top, there's plenty of room for me to spread out my laptop, notebooks, and study books comfortably and still have room for a candle and cup of tea!

It was also so easy to put together, much easier than any other flat pack furniture I have had to put together before, so I was very happy with that! I love that the two drawers are massive, there's nothing worse than having drawers in a desk that are tiny and therefore next to useless! I've already crammed them full with essentials I need every day.

What is your desk space like?

Halloween with The Delightful Unicorn

Boo!

*insert generic "omg I can't believe it's October where has 2017 gone" sentence here*

I have an entire month of exciting blog posts coming your way. I know, I'm spoiling you right now.

If you are following me on Instagram, (and if you aren't, why not? here is a very subtle link drop), then you will have seen my mega exciting news of me joining the design team for The Delightful Unicorn*, and I am so glad Nicki has given me the opportunity. p.s keep reading, there's a lovely discount code.

It is also mega exciting as I get to bring you at least 1 blog post a month sharing some planner goodness!

This month is all about Halloween, I received some gorgeous Halloween stickers and a paper clip. In Phil's words "as far as stickers go, that's all pretty damn awesome!", I will 100% take this as a compliment.

I'm sure I bang on about it a lot, but in the competitive market of Etsy, stationery and stickers, the quality of these products are amazing. I do sometimes find that stickers aren't cut properly and will then rip but I've used all these stickers now and haven't had any issues whatsoever, which makes for a happy Adele. Who want stickers that rip?! Paperclips are not always something I use and I haven't bought any before, but this Witch one is uh-mazing! The effort that must have gone into making these, I can't even imagine! I'd also like to mention she has a beautiful Beauty and the Beast themed Rose Clip which can be found here. Is it payday yet? Because I desperately need it!

On to what I received in the parcel!

First up, I was lucky to receive the Witch paperclip, the detail is stunning and I can really appreciate the hand crafted element of this. The time and effort, not to mention love that went into the making of this is admirable. I am using this to mark every week until November, feeling very festive at the moment!

I then received 3 different sets of stickers. The first is a set of Halloween characters! I absolutely love them, I don't need to have a set theme to be able to use them, so I've used them all throughout my Halloween spread! I couldn't possibly pick a favourite, jk it's the Santa, Halloween and Christmas together?! OMG!

The second sheet was a set of purple themed Halloween stickers, these are adorable. I love the little borders, it meant I could add just that touch of detail which makes a lot of difference to my Happy Planner spread, it reminds me a bit of Harry Potter at Halloween! The Witch's Hat and Cat just scream Halloween to me.

The third, and last, sheet has a lovely purple and yellow theme to it. The borders and Happy Halloween were the first I just knew I had to use. I used them to decorate my monthly Happy Planner spread and I love them! Not too spooky but the detail it added was cute!

That's my first lot from The Delightful Unicorn! And I honestly cannot wait to see what delights she brings out next! jk, I've seen sneak peeks, go check her out on Etsy!

*These products were received from being part of the Design Team for The Delightful Unicorn
